Arnside sits within the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Despite being the smallest AONB in the Country, it offers one of England’s finest landscapes.
The area is recognised for its extraordinary diversity of habitats, and of plants, birds and butterflies. The stunning limestone pavements, ancient woodlands, intimate meadows, rich wetlands and impressive coastline - as well as the welcoming community and an intriguing history - all contribute to making this area unique.
To the North, on the opposite side of the River Kent Estuary lies the Lake District National Park - arguably the most beautiful part of the United Kingdom. With its majestic mountain ranges and tranquil lakes, the Lake District attracts millions of visitors each year - all of whom come to enjoy the magnificent scenery.
The Yorkshire Dales are also within easy reach by car.
The City of Lancaster lies approximately 15 miles to the South whilst Kendal - the Gateway to The Lakes - is a similar distance to the East. Both cities offer plentiful shopping, restaurants and parking.
